I’ve been looking for the right phone to tempt me to pry open my wallet and finally upgrade my aging android phone, and the Nokia Lumina 1020 may be the Windows Phone to do it.
It’s no secret that I’m a fan of the design and interface of Windows Phones, but that’s not the core reason for me wanting to pick up a Lumina 1020. The core reason is the camera.
It doesn’t matter how much money you spend on a camera, the camera that you’ll use most is the one that you have with you. I always have my phone with me, so it is my de facto primary camera. Being a newly minted father means that I’m taking lots of pics of little Malcolm Tennant, and what better way to do so that with a stunning 41 megapixel camera?
Matthew Miller over on ZDNet raves about the Lumina 1020 calling it the “best Windows Phone device ever made”, and waxes lyrical about the amazing camera:
Then again, I am getting tired of seeing blurry, poor quality pictures shared by family and friends and am actually a bit sad when those crappy photos are the only memories they have of those moments. The Nokia Lumia 1020 lets you capture those moments and remember them in vivid clarity later on while still giving you a very functional smartphone experience.
Given how long I tend to keep my phone before upgrading (I admit it, I’m tight), the amazing zoom and resolution of the Lumina 1020 could be just the thing for capturing Malcolms first steps and first runs at the park.
