I am not at all a fan of Internet Explorer, but I have to hand it to Microsoft’s advertising department, this new IE commercial is really cool! If you were born in the late 70′s or early 80′s, be prepared for a walk down memory lane!

If you’re weren’t online much last night you may have missed one of Microsoft’s most important announcements in years. Here’s video of the full even as Microsoft announces a new range of “Surface” tablets, which they built the hardware for and have some interesting new features, as well as laying out their strategy going forward.

Normally when resignation letters make it viral on the internet, it’s because someone has spilled the beans or seriously started mud slinging but  designer Karen X. Cheng’s  resignation letter to Microsoft if different.

After spending 3 years working on Excel at Microsoft, she’s is leaving the company for to work as a designer for a start-up and as she’s an amateur musician, she’s doing it to the sound of Don McLean’s American Pie.

Hot on the heels of Google and never ones to miss an opportunity, Microsoft jumped on the bandwagon and released their own version of the Project Glass augmented reality glasses.

Microsoft has always had strong visions for the future and this video called “Productivity Future Vision” has many elements we’ve seen carry through from past “vision” videos.

This particular one focus us, as the name implies, on the productivity side of life and contains a lot that I would love to see become a reality.

C’mon Microsoft. What are you waiting for?
