So here’s a cool notion – How do you show that you believe your product is better than the competition? You put your money where your mouth is and challenge people to prove you wrong.
That’s exactly what Microsoft is doing with the Windows Phone Challenge.
Microsoft are betting Android users $100 that in a heads up competition, Windows Phone is faster at the “everyday” stuff that you need done. We’re not taking about games performance here (which Windows Phone is pretty decent at) we’re talking about the stuff that we check and do constantly throughout the day such as seeing our latest Twitter and Facebook messages, email, the weather, taking pictures and that sort of thing. The stuff that actually takes time to do when all we really need is a quick hit of information.
Windows Phone features Live Tiles, they’re like interactive icons that display the latest information right there on your screen without you having to launch and app. What’s your next appointment? Live Tiles show you when, where an who width without you having to open you calendar app and go far beyond the simple notifications offered by most apps on Android and other phone OS’s.
